Talk about a TV theme that is an ear worm, you know, a song that gets stuck in your head after you hear it!

Tell me you don’t remember these lyrics word for word:

“This is the theme to Garry’s Show,
The opening theme to Garry’s show.
This is the music that you hear as you watch the credits.
We’re almost to the part of where I start to whistle.
Then we’ll watch “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show.”

“It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” ran on Showtime from 1986 until 1990 and reruns ranĀ on FOX from 1988 until 1990.

The show’s theme song was written by a guy named Bill Lynch, which has to be that guy’s claim to fame considering I’ve never heard of anything else he’s done!

The one thing I do remember about “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” is how all of the characters on the show seemed to break the fourth wall and talk directly to the audience, which I always thought was funny!

Sadly, Garry Shandling passed away last year at the age of 66.
