Even though Mother Nature doesn’t seem to want to play along, here’s one sign that summer is right around the corner.

Just like it has for 90 years now, Buckingham Fountain was turned on for the first time since last Fall this past Saturday, May 6th.

I love seeing the Fountain on when I drive past Grant Park on Lake Shore Drive!

So just how much water is in Buckingham Fountain?

It’s a little more than your bathtub, that’s for sure!

It holds one and a half million gallons of water and shoots water 150 feet into the air! The fountain itself, which sorta looks like a layer cake, was built to look like the Latona Fountain at the Palace of Versailles.

The fountain performs it’s aqua-themed show ever hour starting at 9 AM. The show lasts 20 minutes, with the last show starting at 10:35 PM.
