“Fame” is one of those rare cases of a movie that was turned in to a successful TV series.

The TV series came out in 1982, two years after the original film and ran until 1987.

The series started on NBC, but moved into syndication after two seasons.

Here’s the crazy thing about the shows theme though.

Irene Cara had a hit with the song “Fame”, but she’s not the one singing on the TV series’ opening credits.

It’s actually¬†Erica Gimpel, who played Coco Hernandez on the show!
