It seems VERY odd to discuss Christmas with temperatures still in the 90s, but that’s Chicago!

Believe it or not, this is actually day #3 of Autumn, so it’s time to find Chicago’s 104th official Christmas tree. As usual, the city needs your assistance.

Make that…”your TREE!”

  • Must be a Spruce or Fir (NOT a Pine)
  • Must be least 55 feet tall
  • Must be within 100 miles of the Loop

Got one that meets those requirements? Its new home could be Millennium Park this holiday season! You’d also be the guest of honor at the tree lighting ceremony on November 17th.

CLICK HERE to email the info to The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events. You can also use old fashioned snail mail:

Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events
ATTN: Christmas Tree Contest
78 E. Washington Street
Chicago, IL  60602

The deadline for submissions is 10/20/2017. Good luck to you and your tree!
