Everyone knows that you can drop off a newborn baby at a fire station, police station or hospital no questions asked, right?

There’s even something called a Safe Haven Baby Box at some fire stations.

When someone puts something in there, it sets off an alarm.

Usually it’s just a prank or someone just checking out what the box actually is.

But when a Fire Chief at a LaPorte County Fire Station heard the buzzer going off the other day, it wasn’t a prank….the Northwest Indiana Times says there was a newborn baby girl in there!

The Safe Haven rule mans that no questions will be asked and they won’t be doing an investigation to find the mother or father. ┬áThat’s what the box is for!

It sounds so wrong, but I suppose it saved that baby’s life!
