Everyone knows that you can drop off a newborn baby at a fire station, police station or hospital no questions asked, right?
There’s even something called a Safe Haven Baby Box at some fire stations.
When someone puts something in there, it sets off an alarm.
Usually it’s just a prank or someone just checking out what the box actually is.
But when a Fire Chief at a LaPorte County Fire Station heard the buzzer going off the other day, it wasn’t a prank….the Northwest Indiana Times says there was a newborn baby girl in there!
The Safe Haven rule mans that no questions will be asked and they won’t be doing an investigation to find the mother or father. That’s what the box is for!
It sounds so wrong, but I suppose it saved that baby’s life!
