Talk about going above and beyond the call of duty.
Officer Paul Pulkownik was honored yesterday for the way he helped save an eight month old baby.
How’d he do it?
By donating some bone marrow.
CBS 2 says that the baby has a rare disorder and the only way to cure that disorder was with a bone marrow transplant.
Crazy thing is, there’s laws on the books that prohibit donors from meeting the people they donated marrow to within the next 12 months.
But the baby is doing better….which is awesome!
What’s even cooler is that the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation has honored Officer Pulkownik for what he’s done!
I hope that baby’s parents reach out to this officer next year and that they can meet up!
